As piece of the city’s Art Stations task, the Toledo metro station in Naples, Italy open this only a few months ago Europe’s Week of Sustainable Mobility. Designed by Spanish architecture firm, Oscar Tusquets Blanca, the station features a mesmerizing extensive mosaic in special shades of blue; capture the motion and movement of water and light. The mosaic, which was realized by South African artist William Kentridge, is enhanced by strategically placed light panels created by Robert Wilson that amplify the depth of the tunnel and the art itself. The Art Stations project began as a way to smarten the city’s underground and urban landscape, with over a dozen metro stations in Naples being transformed into a kind of museum setting with 180 different works of art produced by 90 of the world’s leading contemporary artists.
Giraffe Manor is an exclusive land and hotel in the Lang’ata community of Nairobi, Kenya, renowned for its occupant shepherd of rare Rothschild giraffes that live in the general grounds of the manor house.
